Updates Affecting the immediate
Arrowhead Community:
3/26/2020: Gunnison County clarifies Public Health Order in wake of neighboring “shelter in place” restrictions:
While Gunnison County appreciates the Governor’s recognition in his Executive Order that stricter local government orders already in place control over the Governor's Executive Order (please read page-3 of the FAQ Stay in Place Order PDF, under "Enforcement"). It states the following: "How does this impact local municipalities that have already taken steps to enact stay at home orders?
-
Any local jurisdiction can put in requirements that are more restrictive and anything that was in place stays in place."
After reviewing the Executive Order, Gunnison County concludes that its Third Amended Public Health Order is consistent with, if not stricter than, the Governor’s Executive Order. Accordingly, under both the terms of Gunnison County’s Order and the Governor’s Executive Order, the Gunnison County Third Amended Public Health Order controls, and will continue to operate under the terms of the County’s Order. Click here to read Gunnison County's clarification of public orders and "Shelter-In-Place" notice.
To understand what restrictions apply to persons within Gunnison County, please refer to the Third Amended Public Health Order and the information Gunnison County has provided on their website, or please contact the Call Center at (970) 641-7660.
